GUJRAL TELLS BAKER INDIA HARD HIT BY GULF CRISIS | SEPTEMBER 1990

The external affairs minister, Mr Inder Kumar Gujral met the secretary of state Mr James Baker and told him that the Gulf crisis is ”straining” India’s economy.

Indian officials estimate that the crisis would cost India $4 billion in higher oil bills, except losses and expense in evacuating and resettling 1,82,000 expatriates.
