The Ajmer State Government proposed to spend over Rs. 1.4 crores on minor and major irrigation works in the state under the second five-year plan.
He said the second plan would radically change the complexion of Rural life. Agriculture which was the mainstay of the people in the villages, would be further developed and a number of social welfare schemes launched.
The Revenue Minister said that a recent survey conducted in the villages of this state had revealed that a large number of children between 6 to 11 years of age were still not attending school in spite of compulsory primary education in the state. This was most regrettable. People should avail themselves of the vast educational facilities placed at their disposal by the State Government, he added.
